N. BatresIt might not be an authentic Apple product, but it definitely gets the job done the same way an apple product would. I can't believe this item is SO much cheaper then the one from apple, yet its almost the same thing!

I had expectations of a cable very similar to the original provided with my Iphone but it was one step up. This cable includes a squeeze release to detach the chord from the Iphone.
The item shipped quickly, although I did have to pay double S&H in order to ship 2 of the same chord that shipped in a box large enough for 20 chords.

My granddaughter left her iPod charging cord in somebody's car, and was so woebegone that I told her I would order her another one from Amazon.com. I found the item easily on the Amazon.com electronics page, ordered it, and before I had even begun to wonder when it would come, it had arrived! She says it works just fine.

the cable works, but data transfer sometimes hangs if you're uploading several gigs onto the ipod. this may well be due to my old ipod tho
