The 24-inch glossy, widescreen display with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution uses LED-backlit technology to provide instant full-screen brightness and great power efficiency. LEDs are solid-state light sources that light up very quickly, so there’s no waiting for your display when you connect your new MacBook, MacBook Pro, or MacBook Air. With the built-in iSight camera, microphone, and speakers, you can connect your new MacBook--leaving it open or closed--and engage in video chats or listen to music just as you would with a desktop computer.
The LED Cinema Display includes a MagSafe connector that powers and charges your new MacBook. The connector sits on your desk, ready and waiting--no need to unravel the cord to the power adapter that came with your notebook. On the back of the display, you’ll find three self-powered USB ports that are enabled the moment you plug the USB connector into your new MacBook. Connect a printer, camera, iPod, iPhone, USB hard drive... and they can stay connected so you can just grab your MacBook and go.
Tilt the LED Cinema Display to get the viewing angle that’s best for your work environment. With its smooth-motion hinge, adjustment is effortless. Choose an angle anywhere from -5 to 25 degrees.
Part of the next-generation DisplayPort industry standard, the new Mini DisplayPort delivers a pure digital signal that can drive up to a 30-inch widescreen display. The Mini DisplayPort is ultra-compact at just 10 percent the size of a full DVI connector, perfect for the sleek design of the new MacBook family. Adapters are available for using the MacBook’s Mini DisplayPort with older generation VGA, DVI/HDMI and Dual-Link DVI displays.
The new LED Cinema Display is the greenest Apple display ever, made with mercury-free LED technology, arsenic-free glass and highly recyclable materials. The LED Cinema Display meets stringent Energy Star 4.0 requirements and achieves EPEAT Gold status. Solid monitor but I have my issues, October 23, 2009
By
Joseph NastoI really like how the monitor enhances my experience on my MacBook Pro. The built-in speakers are better than the laptop but not great. They definitely do the job which is why they are there.
I was, however, upset that I received it with a dead pixel. Since I've noticed it I can't stop seeing it. Apple won't touch it since its not defective enough - need atleast 5 or more dead pixels before they touch it.
Thinking about selling it and getting the new iMac. I heard that can be turned into a monitor and you get 3 more inches to boot.
I'll have to wait and see.

As a long-time Mac user ... didn't even consider this 8 weeks ago when we got a new MacBook Pro 13" ... when my spouse started doing more 'homework' in the bedroom on the older 'noisy-fan computer,' something had to change, and the 24" LED Apple Cinema Display popped out as a solution.
The range of screen real estate auto-adjusts right when you connect your laptop ... Amazing! Yes, a little pricey in the splurge-worth-every-penny sense, and yes, if you've got the right computer (or are ordering one), then these are the top 'cool' features we like:
* Greener / cleaner
* Beautiful design
* Built-in speakers "let music flow" (in our small-average sized room is very, very pleasant)
* Connects to MacBook Pro with *built-in* 3-way cord (weren't sure if it was a separate purchase at first ... it's included)
* Laptop connection gives "instant-on" with display, and lid closed ... "It just works" factor ... you can even wake/sleep laptop via blutooth devices*
* Built-in iSight / Mic works great
* Sound / Brightness adjustable from
*It goes very nicely with Apple's wireless bluetooth keyboard and mouse from Apple, to simplify and de-clutter our space. Wonderful, in a word.

After a very long search and returning monitors from Dell, Samsung & Benq --- this one is a keeper! The colors are amazing, the clarity is top shelf and the display is perfect out of the box. I spend 10 - 12 hours a day in front of my machine working on everything from Graphic Design, Photo-shop Work, Spreadsheets, and Website design.
If you are a mac user and have one of the newer machines this is an incredible monitor. Is it expensive ... yes .... does it only work with the new machines ... yes. Is it worth it .... yes!!!!
The color accuracy is incredible and the brightness is amazing. Movies look smooth, text is easy to read. Had it setup and running in less than 5 minutes. If you are looking for a professional monitor with truly even color across the whole screen with a very wide viewing angle this one deserves consideration. It does have a reflective screen .... but by moving or tilting the screen by 1/2 an inch ... reflections are gone. Can't say enough good things about this monitor and the 3 month search for the perfect monitor has come to an end with the Apple Cinema 24" display.
As a bonus --- the camera integration, extra USB ports, and much better than average sound makes this one a winner!

I recently sold my 20" iMac and purchased this Apple LED Cinema display to use with my 13" MacBook. Let me just say right of the bat, this is the most beautiful, well-constructed display I've ever used. Immediately after plugging the mini displayport into my MacBook, the display light to full brightness and auto adjusted the settings. The 3 USB ports on the rear of the monitor work perfectly and it's great to have the magsafe power charger handy. The monitor's only weakness, in my opinion, is the audio speaker quality. Don't get me wrong, for speakers built into a monitor it sounds great. However, compared with my Logitech Z2300's it's not even close...but I digress. 1080P video runs smooth with exceptional clarity. Also, the depth of color is fantastic - it actually makes my slightly older unibody MacBook look bad (the new MacBook Pros & Air have the updated LED displays that should be on par with this monitor). I can honestly and without any doubt say, if you're at all considering this monitor, you should definitely purchase it - you will NOT be disappointed! Apple LED Cinema Display 24-Inch MB382LL/A
Terribly Disappointed in Apple***, August 9, 2009

I bought the 24 inch LED Cinema Display no less than 3 days ago. I was hoping to connect it to my
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro3,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz
Apples site says it will work with all new macs. and the guy at the genius bar told me right before i bought it that there was an adapter available to connect my Mac Pro , (which DOES NOT have mini display in the back , but 2 DVI ports instead.)
Now i'm sitting on a brand new 24 inch in the box and i'm heated with apple. i have absolutely no way to connect apples top of the line "beast" to it's brand new display?
I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on their products, and they don't even have a cable to connect Mac Pro with this new display????
Bogus if you ask me.
if i'm wrong, which i hope i am, please let me know and point me in the right direction.
otherwise I'm returning it asap.
thanks,
a very angry, yet loyal apple customer.
