WinDVD 9 Plus Runs fine on Vista, November 25, 2009

People are stating it doesn't work with Vista & it's just not true! Mine is running fine & it really has enhanced standard DVD's on my machine. I decided to give this product a try after accepting a software update & I lost the ability to play HD DVD's on my machine. I can now watch HD disks again (haven't figured out how to get them to be full screen yet) and when I watch standard DVD's they are amazingly enhanced to near HD. Don't listen to the naysayers, try it you'll like it - just be sure you do ALL the updates prior to viewing your 1st disk.

Not all blu-ray disks will play, some hd-dvd have terrible sound, and many dvds cause it to crash. Tech support was meager at best. I did the online support, which got me nowhere, and they suggested I call technical support, at a cost of 15 dollars for support.



Works great on Vista after its updated, October 22, 2009

If you are running Vista 64 bit do not expect it to work perfectly out of the box. While it did play DVDs with few problems, blu-ray discs caused the program to crash everytime. That is until I checked Corel's website for updates and found four patches to install. Do not rely on the update link in the program to tell you about these updates. It won't. You will have to go to Corel's website yourself to find and download them.

Once I downloaded and installed the updates, my blu-ray discs work fine. No more crashes. Even the DVDs work better.

That being said, the program, after it's updated, works great. The image quality is fantastic! Even my DVD movies look better when played through this program. Over all, I'm very happy with my purchase.



Works ok, October 17, 2009

A few posters claim that this product does not work with vista, but it DOES. I'm currently running vista premium 64 bit edition and for the most part am very happy with the application. All titles that I have played with the program have worked well with a few that had menu errors (the newer titles maybe?) and had to use keyboard to play the title. Movie played fine and with excellent quality (surround works great for me). I also liked the all2hd feature except you have to disable dual monitor and hardware rendering to get it to work, but the upscaling makes 480p dvd's look great on high definition monitor.



Execellent Playback Software for Bluray and DVD, October 9, 2009

Plays Blurays and DVDs with excellent 1080p resolution on an HDTV or HD monitor with HDMI ports.
My old DVD collection looks outstanding and the audio is crisp and clear, you can configure HD audio
with WinDVD to your ears content. Make sure you have an HD motherboard with integrated graphics and
high definition audio, HDMI ports. Works really good with a 5.1 sound card.
