NOTHING SPECIAL ABOUT A CABLE NOT MADE BY SONY
THIS CABLE IS ONLY IN SONY PACKAGING, IT IS NOT EVEN MANUFACTURED AT A SONY PLANT, IT IS SIMPLY MADE IN CHINA AND BROUGHT TO THE US TO BE PUT IN A FANCY SONY PACKAGE AND TO BE SOLD TO THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO PAY A PRETTY PENNY ONLY TO RIP OPEN THE FANCY PACKAGE AND IN THE GARBAGE IT GOES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CANT JUST ENJOY THE SAME CABLE THEY CAN BUY FOR AT LEAST $10 LESS.
PS I REALIZED THIS AFTER BUYING THIS OVERPRICE CABLE.

This is an inexpensive, no frills cable of suitable quality for connecting my Canon 5D Mk II and/or Canon T1i to watch HD video. Also great for photo slideshows from the same. Would be equally suitable for any other digital camera/camcorder with mini HDMI output.

I did order one of these cables and did receive some no-name cable instead. It's not a bad cable after all, but from browsing a bit around, one can buy a no-name cable for much less.

inlvnvGeneric brand cables seemed to be hit or miss whether those will work or not, so I bought this for my Sony SR12. It works well, but this should have been included with the camcorder. It also works well with my Nikon D90 camera.

Sony camera didn't include this hdmi coverter cable in the package, as it is sold as an add on assesstory. It is pricey, but it is still cheaper on amazon than any other outlet store.
