Another reviewer brings up a very good point. "The rubber at the top of the screen is very thin and flexible, and it very easily pulls away from the screen protector. I would think there should be a larger lip on screen protector to keep the rubber in place." I would totally agree that the screen protector provided could be bigger and is not very good, but thankfully there is another option. There is a full length clear piece of plastic inside the case that has tabs sticking out the top and bottom. The tabs hold the case squarely in the display box during shipping. When you unpack the case save this piece of plastic. All you have to do is cut off the top tab and trim the bottom to fit over the screen area. Make sure to leave extra overlap so the edges of the case around the screen have the extra grip. There is also a cardboard insert (actual iPod size) that works very well as a template.
I purchased this for the 7th generation iPod Classic 160GB not knowing there was a difference in size between the 6th and 7th gen's. Turns out it wasn't a problem as I was able to use the rubber spacer (intended to accommodate the 80GB model and included with the product) and everything fit like a well tailored glove. I love Speck ToughSkin Rubberized Cases because they make the most hard core protection you could possibly obtain for your treasured gadget. I had an older MP3 player take a four foot drop, bouncing a bit on impact, while protected by one of these cases with absolutely no damage to the player whatsoever. This product is virtually unavailable on store shelves. I searched high and low throughout the Dayton, Ohio area and could not find it. It fits snugly over the the iPod classic and the belt clip makes it ideal for my son who sits in a wheelchair all day.

So I buy myself a brand new ipod classic. It looks cool, its sleek and shiny...a work of art if you will. A day later this case comes in and I put it on. Well no more sleek and shiny look, but it still serves it purpose right? I mean the ipod plays, and you might as well try to protect such a valuable item. Well one morning I jump in the car(pickup) to go to work, ipod in hand. It hits the door as I am getting in the car and falls six feet to the ground. Kinda bounces a little when it hits the ground and its totaly unharmed. In my opinion the case was a good buy.

My only complaint is that there is not one for each size, which I have the smaller IPod classic. Meaning I have to stick this piece of rubber in the back and kind of creates an annoyance.
