Wouldn't recommend, November 9, 2009

After all of the glowing reviews, I thought these would be exactly what I was looking for in a headphone. But, after getting them and trying them out, I was really disappointed. They are very uncomfortable to wear regardless of the in-ear adapter that you wear. But, even more disappointing was the sound quality of the earphone itself. It sounded really flat and in all honesty, my ipod earphones sounded better. I do know that earphones are supposed to "warm up" after playing them for an extended period of time, but there was no way that I was going to take a $250 gamble on these on the hope that these uncomfortable headphones would "maybe" sound better than the ipod earphones I was hoping to replace.
WOW. Blown away by these earphones, October 14, 2009

A. RegeleI am the type of shopper that waits, and waits and researches and researches until there is nothing left to review. My earphone purchase was no exception, and i spent weeks and weeks scouring the internet for every review and comparison in my price point. I'll be honest, i went cheap and bought the Klipsch S4i's before i bought these. While those earphones certainly are decent for the price, i was not THAT impressed and felt there must be better earphones. So i returned the Klipsch and made the plunge for the Ultimate Ears super.fi Pros, mainly because they were on sale for $219!
$219 for earphones is certainly not cheap, and i felt the same way as many who are considering these but hesistant to due to the price tag. However, if clear, crisp and rich sound is what you are looking for, then the price is a steal for these. The mids and highs are absolutely spot on (i hear instruments and sounds that i didnt before on songs i have exhaustively played over and over again...absolutely amazing). The bass is good too, perfect for me. it doesnt pound out the other sounds and overtakes the music. I actually tried the extended bass version about a year ago, and they were good until they broke. but you will sacrifice the mids and highs for the bass if you go that route. From ipod earphones, sony in-ear, klipsch s4s, ultimate ears EB and Ultimate ears super.fi 5 pros, i honestly can say the super.fi's are notably better and worth the price. You will not regret your purchase. If you are a bass junkie, that is the only person id suggest trying the EBs first or comparing them somehow.
Don't break the cable, October 14, 2009
By

Warning - One key attraction is the ability to replace the cable should it break... why spend over $200 on headphones and have to toss them for a failure in a $3 cable? Well, for now it looks that this is indeed the situation. My cable just broke and I cannot locate a replacement cable anywhere (well, found one in London for something like $65). The company doesn't even have email support to ask the question, the link goes to a non-functional Logitech page as of 10-13-09. I've loved the sound, but buyer be aware that a simple cable break may make this a very expensive and frustrating experience. If the manufacture isn't willing to sell a $3 replacement cable for $20 on their own website it makes me wonder if they will honor warranty.
Discountinued, cable broke twice and no replacements available, October 5, 2009

While the earphones are nice the cable has broken on me twice. The first time I went to the UE website and they were out of stock so I emailed them, and they sent me a free pair. That was nice however they smelled like a skunk sprayed them. That was fun cleaning it off.
Now these replacement cables have broken and I'm left with $250 paperweights. This line has been canceled and I'm annoyed they don't have replacement parts for it.
I will never buy another UE product again.
Great sound ... tricky to get in the ear right!, September 21, 2009

I have used these earphones for a little under 2 years. I have small ear canals so getting a good seal has been tricky. However, with some practice I managed to get a pretty good sound. These are great sounding phones for the audio savy. I can really hear my music come to life on my Ipod and Zune HD. Most people think I am crazy for paying a lot for earphones but I am an audiophile at heart.
